1. April 14, 2015 at Oracle (then AT&T) Park: Running over the tarp, making a running, over-the-shoulder catch at full speed, firing a throw to third base from his knees atop the tarp, and nearly getting the runner tagging for third.
2. June 28, 2017 at AT&T Park: Knocking a sharp ground ball into the hole between third and short, getting a glove on it to knock it down on a full-extension dive to his left, and then reaching out with his bare hand while flat on the ground, picking up the baseball, wheeling around and throwing the ball from a seated position.
3. Aug. 1, 2020 vs. Padres: Running 111 feet and making a sliding, over-the-shoulder catch to rob the Padres' Trent Grisham of an at-bat.
4. The glove is optional-virtually all the time: Making a bare hand play on a slow chopper and turning what appears to be a surefire infield hit into an out at first base.
5. June 15, 2013 vs. Phillies: Snaring a chopper from the opposing pitcher, Jonathan Pettibone, which was ticketed for the left-field line with a dive so acrobatic you'd have to watch it several times to make sure it wasn't an optical illusion.
6. July 18, 2015 at Petco Park: The Brooks Robinson play. A back-handed grab of Lee May's sharp ground ball down the third-base line that sent Robinson far into foul territory before he somehow made an impossible throw to get May at first in Game 1 of the 1970 World Series.
7. May 26, 2017 vs. Cardinals: Making a play on a ball hit by Yadier Molina that was hit about as hard as you can hit a baseball. Arenado makes this play look so easy it's silly.
8. May 18, 2018 at AT&T Park: Throwing a guy out from anywhere on the diamond while not being remotely upright.
9. Aug. 11, 2016 at Texas: Robbing the Rangers' Rougned Odor of a hit up the middle by going behind second base to collect the ball, then spinning and throwing Odor out all in one motion as his momentum is taking him toward right field.
10. July 3, 2017 vs. Reds: Fielding a sacrifice bunt attempt down the first-base line, then throwing across his body to second to get the lead runner.

These are just a few examples of Nolan Arenado's incredible defensive skills. With each passing season, Arenado continues to make new plays that leave fans and analysts alike in awe. Even when it eventually comes time for him to retire, he will always be remembered as one of the greatest third basemen in MLB history.
