Luka Dončić, born February 28, 1999 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, is a professional basketball player who currently plays for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Dončić started playing basketball at a young age and began his professional career in 2015 with Real Madrid. In 2018, he was selected third overall in the NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks and was subsequently traded to the Mavericks. In his time with Dallas, Dončić has become one of the league's top players, earning All-NBA First Team honors in 2021 and leading the Mavericks to the playoffs in each of his first three seasons. Dončić has also won numerous accolades for his performances in international competition, including leading Slovenia to a gold medal at EuroBasket 2017 and being named the tournament's MVP.
