Meet the Final Four Players to Watch
San Diego State Player to Watch: Darrion Trammell
The Aztec basketball program is making history as they are in their first Final Four ever. They've gotten here with great teamwork, downright scary athleticism on the defensive side of the ball and some great playmakers like Darrion Trammell. He's averaging just over 15 points in his last three games and has really come to play in this tournament. More specifically, he dropped 21 points against #1 Alabama and then hit the winning free throw to send San Diego State to the Final Four. Watch for him to step up big against Florida Atlantic University.
Florida Atlantic Player to Watch: Johnell Davis
It's hard to believe a 9 seed could make the Final Four but Florida Atlantic University sure proved a lot of people wrong. In large part due to sophomore guard Johnell Davis who is averaging just under 15 points and 7 boards in tournament play. This kid plays fearless and with a huge chip on his shoulder. The Owls have scorers everywhere and with a balanced attack and a leader like Davis they're looking for a championship.
Miami Player to Watch: Jordan Miller
Fifth year senior Jordan Miller had something special for the Texas Longhorns on Sunday. He went for 27 points including 13 of 13 from the free throw line. Big moments require big time players and Miller has answered the call. Miller has averaged just over 16 points in the tournament including a 19 point explosion in the second round against Indiana. Hurricane Coach Jim Larranaga describes Miller as a complete basketball player who can take you off the dribble and is highly consistent at the charity stripe. It's exactly what you want in a player in this spot and they'll need against a hungry University of Connecticut team.
UConn Player to Watch: Jordan Hawkins
This University of Connecticut team is by far the most physically dominant team left in the tournament. They've beat all four of their tournament opponents by 15 or more points. While the athleticism and size stick out, there's one specific player to watch this weekend for the Huskies -- sophomore guard Jordan Hawkins. He's averaging just over 17 points per game and he seems to always hit shots when his team needs him the most. He hit six three pointers in the Elite Eight game against Gonzaga for crying out loud. Best of all, Hawkins makes the game look easy and he has a ton of fun doing it. Look for the Huskie sophomore's hot shooting to cut down the nets for this UConn team.
