The end was certainly shocking considering FAU was in control in the first half scoring more points against a San Diego State team than any of their opponents had the entire tournament. Alijah Martin led the way for the Owls with 26 points and it looked like the 9 seed was going to crash the dance for a chance at the natty but San Diego State had other plans. It was an all time effort game as the Aztecs crashed the offensive boards and turned those into second chance baskets. If you mix in a bit of lock down defense, that's how San Diego ended up coming back from a double digit deficit to give them a chance to win. Matt Bradley led the way for the Aztecs with 21 points and now they need one win to bring this program their first national title in program history. 

Problem with that goal is they will face the University of Connecticut Huskies who have dominated all of their opponents all tournament. In fact, each of their wins have been by more than 10 points and it wouldn't change in their Final Four matchup against Miami. The Hurricanes did cut the deficit to 8 points late in the second half. Isaiah Wong led the way for the Canes with 15 points but it was their inability to make close shots that was really the difference. The Huskies are big, quick, athletic, and on a mission to ruin their opponents lives. Against Miami at one point they were up 20. Big man Adama Sanogo had 21 points and his dominant performance in the post opened up a huge amount of space for his teammates to shoot and drive. Jordan Hawkins also chipped in 13 points. 

It's especially hard to beat a team of destiny but for San Diego State to win this game they're going to have to make threes and box out. The Aztecs have some studs on their teams and some great size. If there's anyone left to take on this UConn's dominant team it's them. But let's be honest, the Huskies have made it look easy. Tonight they made 9 treys and had 13 offensive rebounds -- a perfect recipe for cutting down the nets.
