Blake Sabol is an American professional baseball player born on January 7, 1998. He currently plays as a catcher for the San Francisco Giants in Major League Baseball (MLB).
Sabol played college baseball at the University of Southern California before being selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the seventh round of the 2019 MLB draft. He made his professional debut in the same year with the Low-A West Virginia Black Bears.
Throughout his minor league career, Sabol showcased his versatility by playing multiple positions, including catcher, outfield, and designated hitter. In 2022, he excelled with the Double-A Altoona Curve and the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians, posting impressive offensive numbers.
In December 2022, Sabol was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the Rule 5 draft, but was promptly traded to the San Francisco Giants. His strong performance in spring training earned him a spot on the Giants' Opening Day roster in 2023.
