Griffin Canning is a professional baseball player born on May 11, 1996, in Mission Viejo, California. He attended Santa Margarita Catholic High School and played college baseball at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Canning was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the second round of the 2017 MLB draft.
Canning made his major league debut with the Angels on April 30, 2019, and has since become a key member of the team's starting rotation. In his rookie season, he went 5-6 with a 4.58 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 90.1 innings pitched.
Canning currently plays for the Los Angeles Angels as a starting pitcher. He has shown great potential and has the ability to be a top-of-the-rotation arm for the team. In 2021, he went 8-9 with a 4.41 ERA and 137 strikeouts in 130.1 innings pitched.
