Yordan Alvarez

Yordan Alvarez is a professional baseball player born on June 27, 1997, in Las Tunas, Cuba. He currently plays as a designated hitter and left fielder for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Alvarez began his professional baseball career in Cuba before defecting to the United States in 2016. He signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers and was later traded to the Houston Astros in 2016.

Alvarez made his MLB debut in 2019 with the Astros and quickly made an impact on the league. He was named the American League Rookie of the Year in the same year, becoming the first Cuban-born player to win the award.

Alvarez is known for his impressive hitting skills and power at the plate. He continues to be a dominant force in the MLB and is considered one of the top young players in the league.
