Where is Devin Booker From?
Growing up, Devin was taught by his father that having a high basketball IQ was just as important as natural athleticism. While attending Grandville High School in Grand Rapids, Booker showed great potential as a basketball player. However, he moved to Mississippi in his sophomore year to live with his father and attend Moss Point High School. There, Booker played most of his high school basketball, leading the team to the state title in his senior year.
Booker's success at Moss Point High School earned him a scholarship to the University of Kentucky. He played for the Wildcats for one year before declaring for the NBA draft, where he was selected 13th overall by the Phoenix Suns in 2015.
Since then, Booker has become one of the most promising players in the NBA, averaging over 22 points per game in his career. He has become a franchise player for the Phoenix Suns, leading the team to the NBA Finals in 2021. Booker's impressive skills and work ethic have made him a fan favorite, and he is known for his ability to score from anywhere on the court.
Despite moving to Mississippi for high school, Booker's roots are still in Grand Rapids, where he visits regularly and has supported various charities and initiatives. He has also remained close with his friends from middle school, including fellow NBA players D'Angelo Russell and Tyler Ulis. Booker's journey from Grand Rapids to the NBA has been nothing short of remarkable, and his hard work and dedication to the sport have made him a role model for young athletes everywhere.
