Celebrating the Sacramento Kings' First Playoff Appearance in 15 Years!
That's a great way to describe how a franchise turns the tide.
"We want to do bigger things," Fox continued. "It feels great to get it off of us."
The genesis of the turnaround started last season when the Kings acquired Domantas Sabonis from the Indiana Pacers for Tyrese Haliburton last season. They then acquired offensive studs in veterans Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter. Then they seemingly hired the right coach in Mike Brown. And then the offense started to explode. In fact, the Kings are on the verge of ending this NBA season with the most efficient offense in history averaging 122 points per game. The huge leap in production all comes from every player constantly moving even the stars like Fox and Sabonis. It's beautiful basketball that's not stagnant.
Breaking down the stats for the season, what jumps out is how productive Sabonis has been this season. When your big man can dribble, pass, and shoot it opens up all sorts of opportunities. He is the team assist leader averaging just over 7 dishes per game. He also is the team leader for field goal percentage hovering just around 61 percent. While Sabonis was an awesome addition, this team really runs around one person and that is Fox.
Fox is averaging a career-high 25.2 points per game on a career-best 52 percent shooting from the field, and Sacramento’s offense is 5.2 points better per 100 possessions when he is on the court. With the new additions the Kings made along with the fact that analytically Fox is the best clutch player in the NBA, Sacramento should be a force to be reckoned with in the NBA Playoffs.
