Kevin Garnett is a retired professional basketball player born on May 19, 1976, in Greenville, South Carolina. He is considered one of the greatest power forwards in NBA history.
Garnett was drafted straight out of high school by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the fifth overall pick in the 1995 NBA draft. He spent the majority of his career with the Timberwolves, leading them to eight consecutive playoff appearances and winning the NBA MVP award in 2004.
Garnett also played for the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets before retiring in 2016. He was a 15-time All-Star, a nine-time All-NBA selection, and a four-time All-Defensive First Team selection. He won an NBA championship with the Celtics in 2008 and was named the NBA Finals MVP.
Garnett is known for his intensity on the court, his all-around skills, and his leadership. He was a versatile player who could score, rebound, and play solid defense. Off the court, Garnett has been active in various charitable causes, including the fight against childhood obesity.
