Where is Nikola Jokic from?
Nikola Jokic is a Serbian professional basketball player who currently plays for the Denver Nuggets of the NBA. He was born on February 19, 1995, in the city of Sombor, in the northern part of Serbia. Jokic grew up in a small, two-bedroom apartment with his parents, two older brothers, and grandmother.
Jokic's father was an agricultural engineer, and his brothers played basketball, which inspired Jokic's love for the game. His oldest brother, Strahinja, played basketball in Europe, and his second oldest brother, Nemanja, played college basketball at the University of Detroit Mercy.
Jokic's upbringing in Serbia instilled in him a strong sense of family values, which he carries with him to this day. When asked about his hometown, Jokic said, "It's a really small town on the northwest of Serbia. We have really nice nature. But I just like the people there. It's like family."
