Where Is Victor Wembanyama From?
Victor's grandparents are no strangers to basketball either, with his grandfather, Michel de Fautereau, having played professionally, and his grandmother, Marie Christine, also having played the sport. It's no wonder that Victor has been making waves in the world of basketball, given the rich family history in the sport.
The 7-foot-2 Wembanyama is one of the most intriguing prospects to come out of Europe in recent years, and is widely regarded as a future NBA superstar. He currently plays for the French team Metropolitans 92, and is considered by many to be a lock to be selected in the first round of the 2023 NBA Draft.
Wembanyama has already drawn comparisons to some of the biggest names in basketball, including Kevin Durant, Kristaps Porzingis, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar. LeBron James has also praised the young phenom, saying that "No one has ever seen anyone as tall as he is but as fluid and as graceful as he is out on the floor...he's for sure a generational talent."
Victor Wembanyama's journey is only just beginning, but it's clear that he has the potential to make a huge impact on the world of basketball. With his combination of size, athleticism, and skill, the sky is truly the limit for this young superstar in the making.
