Kris Bryant was a highly-touted baseball prospect right out of high school, and he lived up to the hype by going on to have an illustrious career in college and the Major Leagues. Where did Kris Bryant play college ball? He spent his college career at the University of San Diego (USD), where he played for the San Diego Toreros baseball team.

Bryant attended Bonanza High School in Las Vegas, Nevada and was an All-USA Baseball first-team selection by USA Today while there. The Toronto Blue Jays noticed Bryant's talent and selected him in the 18th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft. But instead of going to the pros, Bryant chose to attend USD and play college baseball.

At San Diego, Bryant became one of the most decorated players in NCAA Division I history. His freshman year, he hit .365 with a .482 on-base percentage (OBP) and a .599 slugging percentage (SLG), along with nine home runs. He was named West Coast Conference Co-Freshman of the Year and was a freshman All-American.

As a sophomore in 2012, he was named first team All-American by Baseball America after hitting .366 with an OBP of .483 and SLG of .671, along with 14 home runs. Bryant's tremendous play earned him an invitation to play for the United States Collegiate National Team that same summer.

In 2013, Bryant's junior year, he hit 31 home runs to lead the nation and set a new NCAA record. He won both the Golden Spikes Award and Dick Howser Trophy, which are awarded to the top baseball player in college each year. Bryant was also named a Louisville Slugger First Team All-American and the College Baseball News National Player of the Year.

After his college career ended, Bryant was selected second overall by the Chicago Cubs in the 2013 MLB Draft. Since then, he has become a two-time National League MVP, winning in 2016 and 2019. He also led the Cubs to their first World Series title in over a century in 2016.

Kris Bryant's college career was nothing short of spectacular. He achieved individual success with his 31 home run season and won numerous awards, while also helping the USD to their best record since 1981.
