Mo Bamba is a professional basketball player who currently plays as a center for the Los Angeles Lakers. Born on May 12, 1998, in New York City, Bamba developed an early interest in basketball and began playing the sport in his childhood. He went on to attend Westtown School in Pennsylvania, where he played for the school's basketball team and established himself as one of the top high school prospects in the country.

After graduating from high school, Bamba attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he played for the Texas Longhorns basketball team. In his lone season with the Longhorns, Bamba averaged 12.9 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game, earning him the Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Year award. Following his impressive college performance, Bamba declared for the 2018 NBA draft and was selected sixth overall by the Orlando Magic.

Bamba spent his first three seasons with the Orlando Magic before being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer of 2021. At 7 feet tall with a wingspan of 7 feet 10 inches, Bamba is known for his impressive size and athleticism, as well as his ability to block shots and protect the rim. He is regarded as one of the most promising young centers in the NBA and is expected to be a key contributor for the Lakers in the years to come.
