Born on October 14, 1994, in San Rafael, California, Goff grew up with a passion for football, inspired by the San Francisco 49ers and their legendary quarterback, Joe Montana. Goff's football journey took shape during his time at Marin Catholic High School in Kentfield, California. He led the school's football team to impressive victories, showcasing his skills as a quarterback. Throughout his three varsity seasons, Goff amassed remarkable statistics, throwing for 7,687 yards and 93 touchdowns. His outstanding performance helped Marin Catholic achieve an overall record of 39–4, including three Marin County Athletic League championships.

After a successful high school career, Goff went on to play college football at the University of California, Berkeley. His exceptional skills and leadership on the field caught the attention of NFL scouts, leading to his selection as the first overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams.
