Where Did Jaren Jackson Jr. Play College Basketball?
Jackson's collegiate career was highlighted by a number of standout performances that cemented his status as one of the best college basketball players in the country. He had a breakout game in his first ever college game against the North Florida Ospreys, scoring 13 points and recording 13 rebounds. Four days later, he scored a season-high 19 points against the then-ranked #1 team in the country, the Duke Blue Devils. Throughout the season, Jackson continued to make a name for himself, setting new career highs in points, rebounds, and blocks.
At the end of the regular season, Jackson was named the Big Ten's Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year. He was also included in the Big Ten's All-Freshman Team and the All-Big Ten's Third Team. Jackson's impressive college basketball career caught the attention of NBA scouts, and he was considered a top-tier lottery selection in the 2018 NBA draft.
In the draft, Jackson was selected with the fourth overall pick by the Memphis Grizzlies. He made an immediate impact in his rookie year, playing in 58 games and averaging 13.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game. Unfortunately, Jackson's sophomore season was cut short due to a knee injury that required surgery. But with his impressive physical stats and basketball skills, there's no doubt that Jackson will continue to make an impact in the NBA for years to come.
