What Obstacles Did Alvin Kamara Overcome To Get To The NFL?

Alvin Kamara, also known as AK41, is a talented running back for the New Orleans Saints in the NFL. Kamara was born on July 25th, 1995, in Norcross, Georgia, and attended Norcross High School where he played football during his junior and senior years. In his senior year, Kamara helped lead his team to their first state championship and earned numerous awards, including Georgia Mr. Football honors, Class AAAAAA Player of the Year, and first-team All-State honors.

After graduating high school, Kamara received 13 official offers from major Division I Programs but ultimately signed with The University of Alabama to play football in 2013. However, Kamara redshirted his first year at Alabama and transferred to Hutchinson Community College in 2014, where he had a successful season, leading him to become one of the top JUCO prospects in the nation. Kamara then played two years at The University of Tennessee from 2015 to 2016, where he accounted for nearly 1,300 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns, in addition to 683 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.

In the 2017 NFL Draft, Kamara was selected in the third round by the New Orleans Saints with the 67th overall pick.

Growing up in Norcross, Georgia, Kamara had one of the greatest prep football seasons in Georgia history, averaging over 7.5 yards per carry for 2,250 yards with 31 touchdowns in his senior year. His proudest accomplishment was helping to lead Norcross to its first-ever title game, where he crafted the biggest comeback in Norcross's history, scoring three straight touchdowns in the fourth quarter and leading Norcross to become Georgia Class 6A Champions. Kamara was named Georgia's Mr. Football by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and was one of the top high school prospect targets for quarterbacks.

Kamara's journey to the NFL was not without obstacles, including a knee injury that took him out for a season at Alabama and behavior issues that led to his suspension from the team. Kamara eventually landed at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas, where he worked hard to become one of the top JUCO prospects in the nation before transferring to The University of Tennessee. Despite facing setbacks, Kamara stayed determined and worked hard to achieve his goals, eventually becoming one of the top players in the NFL.

In conclusion, Alvin Kamara grew up in Norcross, Georgia, where he had an outstanding high school football career and earned numerous awards and accolades. He went on to play football at The University of Alabama, Hutchinson Community College, and The University of Tennessee before being drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Despite facing obstacles along the way, Kamara worked hard and stayed determined to achieve his goals, ultimately becoming one of the top players in the NFL.
