Is Patrick Mahomes The GOAT?
Patrick Mahomes is quickly ascending the ranks of NFL quarterbacks, and many are beginning to speculate that he may be overtaking the great Tom Brady.
Has Patrick Mahomes surpassed Brady? Some say no, but there are plenty of factors that suggest otherwise. Mahomes' amazing arm talent - something that Brady never had - as well as his tendency to make jaw-dropping plays that entertain fans. Additionally, Mahomes is still in the early stages of his career and has already won more games than Brady did at the same point. If he hasn't surpassed him yet, he has plenty of years to catch up to him, especially after signing his latest record-breaking contract extension with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Even Tom Brady, himself feels like Patrick Mahomes could be the next GOAT.
According to ex-RB LeSean McCoy, Patrick Mahomes resembles Tom Brady in how they both realize the meaning of possessing an aristocratic crew around them instead of desiring to be the team's only celebrity. He also shares that Brady considers Mahomes to be the only one that gets it and will have a shot at beating him.

Both Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady are known as big team motivators. In the playoff game that Patrick Mahomes led the Kansas City Chiefs in, they were down by 24 points at one point. Patrick Mahomes told his team "every play, let's do something special." They then scored touchdowns on every one of their next seven drives. This is a similar story to what Tom Brady did in 2001 when the New England Patriots were down by 14 points to the St. Louis Rams.
Patrick Mahomes is also a leader among NFL players when it comes to the fight for equality. Off the field, Patrick Mahomes has started a foundation called "15 and Mahomies" which helps give back to the Kansas City community.
While Brady is still considered the GOAT, there’s no doubt that Mahomes has the potential to overtake him one day. He has all the talent and drive necessary to become one of the most successful quarterbacks in NFL history. If he continues to play at this level, there’s no telling how many Super Bowls he could win.
