Who is Bryce Harper's Wife?
Bryce Harper, a renowned baseball player who has played for the Washington Nationals and the Philadelphia Phillies, is happily married to his high school sweetheart, Kayla Harper, née Varner. The couple tied the knot in December 2016 and are now proud parents of two beautiful children.
Bryce attributes much of his success both on and off the field to the unwavering support of his wife and family. He speaks fondly of his family and how they keep him humbled and grounded. In a 2022 interview with a Los Angeles radio station, Bryce expressed his gratitude for his wife's unwavering support and how she takes care of their children while he's on the field. He further added that Kayla attends all of his games and supports him each night. Bryce is proud to have a family like hers.
Both Bryce and Kayla come from Henderson, Nevada, and attended different high schools. Bryce attended Las Vegas High School, where he was already being called the "LeBron James of baseball" by his freshman year. Meanwhile, Kayla attended Green Valley High School, where she was a decorated soccer player. She was named the team MVP from 2009 to 2011 and led her team to a state championship title. She was also a national All-American and held the Nevada state record for career assists by the time she graduated high school in 2011.
Kayla continued her soccer career at Brigham Young University for the 2011 and 2012 seasons before transferring to Ohio State University, where she played soccer until her graduation in 2015. It was while she was still attending Ohio State that Bryce first popped the question to her in 2014. They made their first public appearance as an engaged couple at the Washington Nationals' annual Dream Gala fundraiser in June 2014.
Their wedding was initially scheduled for January 2015, but the nuptials never happened. The couple unfollowed each other on Twitter and removed mention of each other from their Instagram bios, suggesting a breakup. However, Bryce and Kayla reconciled by the second half of 2015 and announced their engagement again in July 2016. They were married six months later on Dec. 16, 2016, in the San Diego Church of Latter-day Saints Temple. As practicing Mormons, they had their marriage sealed in the temple.
The Harpers are now proud parents of two children: Krew Aron Harper, who was born on Aug. 22, 2019, and Brooklyn Elizabeth Harper, who was born on Nov. 12, 2020. The couple announced they were expecting their first child, a baby boy, in April 2019, just a month after Bryce signed a $330 million, 13-year contract with the Philadelphia Phillies. They announced the news on Instagram with a photo of the couple holding a pint-sized jean jacket that read "Baby Harper" on the back, featuring Bryce's new number, 3. Less than a year later, in June 2020, the couple announced that they were expecting a baby girl, who was born in December of the same year.
Kayla is a dedicated wife and mother who takes care of their children while Bryce is on the field. She supports her husband and tries to attend all of his games, which is a testament to her love and devotion to him. Bryce is grateful for his wife's unwavering support, which has helped him achieve success both on and off the field.
