Where is Jayson Tatum From?

Where is Jayson Tatum From?

Jayson Tatum is one of the brightest stars in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Jayson is the son of Justin Tatum and Brandy Cole who were both 19-year-old undergraduates when he was born. His father played basketball at Saint Louis University and was a gym teacher and basketball coach at Christian Brothers College High School. His mother graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law and is now a practicing attorney in the St. Louis area.

Jayson started playing basketball at a young age and quickly established himself as an outstanding player during his high school years at Chaminade College Preparatory School where he was rated as a five-star recruit. During his junior year of college, he averaged 13.3 points per game which increased to 26 points per game in his sophomore year and 29.6 points per game in his final year at Duke University prior to entering the NBA draft 2017.

The Boston Celtics selected him as their third overall pick for that year’s draft making him the first freshman to be drafted by them since 1985. He also gained much media attention due to becoming part of their dynamic duo with Kyrie Irving who left after three seasons with them, leaving Jayson as the sole star in their lineup from 2018 onwards.

Jayson’s NBA career has been nothing short of remarkable since then as he has led the Celtics team to multiple playoff appearances while being named to various prestigious teams including NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2018 after averaging 13 points per game all season long along with four rebounds and two assists on average during those games. In 2019, he was also named an ‘All-Star Starter’ following up his excellent performance throughout that season where it seemed like no matter what challenge came his way, he could handle it singlehandedly while still leading Boston to much success due to his impressive leadership skills which have earned him many admirers around the league today.

He continues to be one of Boston’s primary players even today averaging 23 points per game this season so far along with 7 rebounds and 4 assists on average during each match which clearly showcases why he is such an important asset for any team that can snag him from free agency or through trades if the Celtics ever decide let go of their beloved star player from St Louis Missouri USA – Jayson Tatum!
