Where did Trae Young Play College Ball?

Trae Young, the Atlanta Hawks' rising star point guard, attended and played college basketball at the University of Oklahoma.

In February 2017, Young committed to play for the Oklahoma Sooners, turning down offers from top basketball programs such as Duke, Kentucky, and Kansas. Instead, he chose to stay in his hometown and play for the University where he used to be a ball boy.

During his time at Oklahoma, Young made a huge impact on the court. In his freshman year, he averaged 27.4 points and 8.7 assists per game, earning numerous accolades such as the Wayman Tisdale Award for National Freshman of the Year and a consensus All-American First Team selection. He also earned First Team All-America honors from Sporting News, USA Today, and The Associated Press.

In just one year at Oklahoma, Young broke records, becoming the fastest freshman to reach 500 points and the first Big 12 player in history to score 800 points before the postseason. He also became the only player to ever lead the NCAA in both points and assists in a single season. He was nothing short of spectacular and made history, earning praise from basketball stars such as LeBron James and Stephen Curry.

After a stellar season, Young declared for the NBA draft and was selected by the Dallas Mavericks with the fifth pick, but was soon traded to the Atlanta Hawks.
